HISTORY OF THE SONS OF ITALY #2594

Our Lodge came into existence in early 1987 through the determined efforts of a small
group of people. Our Lodge was sponsored by John Capuzelo Lodge #2542 of Fort Lauderdale,
Florida. The first organizational meetings were held in the place of business of our past
presidents, Joe and Helen Brann. Florence Martino and Vincent Delizia assisted the Brann’s in
creating the new Lodge. For many of us who came to Florida away from family and friends, the
Lodge became a place to meet new friends and become a home away from home.
On March 15, 1987, forth-three (43) charter members were installed in the newly
chartered Lodge. Since that time, we have continued to grow and prosper as has our City of Port
Saint Lucie. Our dedicated members have selflessly contributed their time, hard labor and money
through the years to make this Lodge a success. For them it was truly a labor of love for the Order.

There is no doubt in our minds that our membership will continue to grow in the coming years. Our
Lodge has earned great recognition in Port Saint Lucie as well as other OSIA Lodges, including the Grand Lodge
of Florida for our civic work and our contributions to many charities.
We are very proud of what our membership has achieved in the past. It is our hope that all our
members, including welcomed new members will continue to work hard and support our Lodge. We need the
support in each and every one of you.
